Our social media counter is a section of its own in the Inkfish kitchen that I have been working in for about 2 months. It has its own section on the menu, offering various dishes and has its own dedicated kitchen team to create those particular dishes. I guess one can then consider me the Chef de partie of our social media counter. I (and the rest of the social media team) create and manage social media profiles and pages on behalf of clients. We create event posts and groups, manage social media security, prepare social media stats at the end of the month, and more.

Inkfish is amazing for a multitude of reasons (that I can’t list in its entirety). Firstly, we can work in pajamas. Secondly, there’s no traffic involved in ‘going to work’ haha (yay no co2 emissions!). Seriously though, I personally love the values of Inkfish and the fact that there is so much diversity amongst the team (given the virtual nature of the job). We all work together and we all learn constantly. There is never a day where people aren’t learning. I love that we’re pumped with knowledge, I love that we’re sustainable and support environmentally friendly companies and initiatives, and I love that we all support each other as a unit.

If you could get a tattoo on your back, what would it be?
A devil wing on the left half of my back and an angel wing on the right half. I won’t dive into the significance but some time ago I had this drawn on my back with makeup and fell in love. I reckon it would be pretty painful given the size and area so I have my uncertainties (maybe one day when I’m brave enough lol)

Do you like horror movies? How about thrillers?
YES! A psychological thriller with a layered plot that gets me thinking is my kinda movie. I hate a cheesy weak horror / thriller with poor acting – it’s so predictable and disappointing

If you had to have a cow or a pig, which would you take? Why?
After watching a video of a cow playing soccer with a ball… a cow, hands down.

If you could have any pet in the world, illegal or not, what would you get?
Keeping wild animals captive wouldn’t sit well with my moral compass. If they’re able to thrive in their natural environment, that’s where I think they should be.

But I’d looove to have a farm with a whole gang of dogs, cows, horses, etc. who are loved and well cared for J

What would you do with a million dollars?
Donate. Invest. Start a business. Buy a small farm. Try to make enough money to never work again lol

City or nature person? Why?
Both actually. I think I’m just accustomed to the city life, having been born in Cape Town and having lived here for all my years. It’s what I know… But nature summons me regularly – trekking on the mountain somewhere is where you will find me on a Sunday. I’m lucky because I live in a bustling city offering serene hiking trails within reasonable distance, pretty much all around. I think it’s necessary to get out of the city from time to time, for your own sanity (even if it’s upward). Being in nature puts life and the bigger picture into perspective, for me at least. Gives me a sense of being in touch with a more natural way of being… away from the chaotic reality us humans have constructed ourselves.
