My journey at INKFISH began in February 2018 when I started my 3 month writing apprenticeship. After I had completed this, I worked on a few odd writing-related tasks before managing the social media department. In recent months, I have also assumed the role of account admin which has since extended my responsibilities at INKFISH, to managing a few client accounts.

I am based in Cape Town and have a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and English Literature. I am passionate about people and problem-solving, I value efficiency, empathy and genuine connection, and love the fact that I don’t have to sit in traffic getting to and from work. I recycle religiously, enjoy connecting with nature and animals, and just try to have a positive impact on the world overall 🙂

If you could get a tattoo on your back, what would it be?
A devil wing on the left half of my back and an angel wing on the right half. I won’t dive into the significance but some time ago I had this drawn on my back with makeup and fell in love. I reckon it would be pretty painful given the size and area so I have my uncertainties (maybe one day when I’m brave enough lol)

Do you like horror movies? How about thrillers?
YES! A psychological thriller with a layered plot that gets me thinking is my kinda movie. I hate a cheesy weak horror / thriller with poor acting – it’s so predictable and disappointing

If you had to have a cow or a pig, which would you take? Why?

If you could have any pet in the world, illegal or not, what would you get?
Keeping wild animals captive wouldn’t sit well with my moral compass. If they’re able to thrive in their natural environment, that’s where I think they should be. But I’d love a farm full of dogs, cows, horses, etc.

What would you do with a million dollars?
Donate. Invest. Start a business. Buy a small farm. Try to make enough money to never work again lol

City or nature person? Why?
Both actually. I think I’m just accustomed to the city life, having been born in Cape Town and having lived here for all my years. It’s what I know… But nature summons me regularly – trekking on the mountain somewhere is where you will find me on a Sunday. I’m lucky because I live in a bustling city offering serene hiking trails within reasonable distance, pretty much all around. I think it’s necessary to get out of the city from time to time, for your own sanity (even if it’s upward). Being in nature puts life and the bigger picture into perspective, for me at least. Gives me a sense of being in touch with a more natural way of being… away from the chaotic reality us humans have constructed ourselves.
