1 Have a Facebook business page.

That might seem like a logic thing to do – who doesn’t have one?
But if I give you read the rest of the tips you might consider what’s the point of having one?
Well, the point of having a Facebook business page is simply because it is a well-known platform
and you can get value out of it. People will use it to check out your business and see what’s been happening in your business and might want to contact you.
Another reason is that you can add your web-links from your website to your Facebook business page and that will be beneficial to your SEO as well as for people engaging with you.

2 Treat your business page as just a minor support to your digital marketing.

At the moment Facebook already hardly shows any of business post to your followers and in future they have announced to even do less of that. Think about how many businesses you have liked and how often you actually see a post from those businesses on to your newsfeed.

3 Sharing, liking and commenting makes a post start trending.

You will often find that the Inkfish team have liked or shared a certain page. We do this to get some traction on the posts and get you to be shown to a little more than just us.

4 Don’t put a lot of effort into your Facebook posts.

We specifically don’t put a lot of effort in Facebook posts and we recommend you only share from your website onto your Facebook otherwise it’s really a waste of time and effort and energy, and all you might be doing is creating a link for someone else’s website if you’re sharing a post from someone else.

5 The best way to have your posts seen by people is to share them in your personal Facebook feed.

Don’t be shy, it is okay to be proud of your business, it is okay to share something sometimes on your Facebook page. I am personally cautious with it, but every now and then there is something that makes me really proud or really happy and I share from my business page to my personal page.

6 Don’t forget to invite your friends and family.

Another thing not to forget is to invite your family and friends to your Facebook page. Not that they will see a lot, but they are just part of your fan-base and you never know just that friend you haven’t seen in a while might just need your services, or that person that you met a few years ago had a street party, was just talking about somebody needing this or that. So don’t underestimate the power of just being in front of somebody’s mind. Just inviting your friends and family to like the page is already something that is part of your marketing strategy.

7 Be sure to put an auto response on your Facebook messenger.

A lot of people these days, when they don’t get a reply quick enough that they like, they will resort to Facebook messenger and they will try and contact you in that way. Be sure to put an automatic response onto your Facebook messenger and to check it on a regular basis. The auto responder message must explain your situation in your business.

8 Don’t waste time on Facebook, it’s not worth it.

Don’t waste time on Facebook; it’s not worth it to be posting your post there. However if you have a product or service that requires educating your target market, in other words, it is something that is new and needs to be explained then you can do that on your Facebook business page. You may not be a plumber but you have invented a water creating system and you can come and install it. The plumber will be found via Google, the guy that has just invented the system needs to show his target audience that there is a solution to a problem people may or will have. So it depends on the client and the product where this falls into. At Inkfish some of our clients fall into the one or other.
